Raspberry Ketone is one of the chemicals found in red raspberries that can be used for a plethora of symptoms and issues. Recently, Raspberry Ketones have been used to promote lean body mass and hair growth, although there are no scientific studies that proves their effects just yet. The fragrant chemical is also used in a range of cosmetic products and fragrances.
It was claimed in 2012 by a TV Doctor that Raspberry Ketones can aid weight loss by reducing the amount of fat that is absorbed and increasing metabolism to burn off fat quicker. However, as there were no studies on this showing any evidence, the supplement, which contained a chemically synthesised form of Raspberry Ketones, was banned in the UK. We now have a raspberry fruit extract, a natural source of ketones, which acts in a similar way to capsaicin, the compound found in chillis, and synephrine, a stimulant banned in EU supplements which boosts the metabolism.
Garcinia Cambogia, a fruit of the tamarind family, blocks the production of the enzyme Citrate Lyase, thus reducing the storage of fat. It also promotes serotonin levels in the brain, leading to reduced appetite and fewer cravings. We use a concentrated Garcinia extract containing 60% HCA (hydroxycitric acid), the compound found in Garcinia Cambogia responsible for weight loss and reduction of fat in the belly. Fat stores in and around the belly are thought to be responsible for an increased risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke and cancer.
