Supplement Place is a family run business that has been operating for 12 plus years.
We are based in Devon and started out because of a keen interest in natural products and natural health. What began as a hobby and passion for understanding the how, what and why of herbal ingredients soon developed into the origins of what is our business today.
Apart from the fundamentals of understanding what ingredients were best for a particular condition, it was more about offering real benefits to UK consumers. The more we investigated the UK supplement industry the more we couldn't understand why natural, healthy products were of such poor quality, with such a high price tag. It became our mission to improve on what was available on the market at the time.
12 years later we are still going strong and underpinned by what are our core values:
- To maintain the highest quality standards for our products
- To provide the best customer service possible
- To concentrate on using all-natural products, without excess packaging
Most of our herbal extracts are sourced from the UK or EU. We do not buy any products from the Far East unless we can be certain of their provenance and quality. Most of our capsules are made for us in the UK using only the purest ingredients. All of our 'Supplement Place' branded supplements are based on formulas unique to Supplement Place. They are all our own recipes and blends, and are manufactured especially for us to our own high standards.
All manufacturing is completed within a CGMP facility. The Current Good Manufacturing Practice ensures that all our products are manufactured to the strictest of standards and must:
- be of consistent high quality
- be appropriate to their intended use
- meet the requirements of the marketing authorisation (MA) or product specification
These standards can be viewed in full at the UK government website for good manufacturing practice and good distribution practice.
Mail Friendly Packaging?
Our quality code of practice also extends to our packaging. Where possible we supply all items in streamlined envelope and mail box friendly packaging. This long thin style of container and packaging ensures more deliveries are able to be posted through your mail box.
The quality of our products is second to none and you will find that our prices are among the most competitive to be found anywhere.
Wishing you all the very best of health.
P.S. - Are We Trustworthy?
This is an email received from a customer, Bob, on 26 May 2011.
My response is still the same as of today :-)
I’ve been buying Maritime Pine Bark extract (pycnogenol) off you for a while now because you are substantially cheaper than other sources. However, recent TV programmes have highlighted the dangers of buying medicines etc off the internet, indicating that you cannot be sure of the genuine content of what you are buying. Do you have any independent verification of the contents of your products or do I have to take it on trust?
It is true that there are risks when buying supplements via the internet, but the same is true of the high street.
We are a limited company, file our accounts with companies house, our address details are well publicised. Our terms and conditions, product guarantee details, refund promises, etc., are all on our web site, yet people seem to place more trust in the likes of Holland & Barret, even though their products are mainly mass produced items of questionable quality that they can afford to give away for next to nothing.
I would argue that the genuine content of our products is as trustworthy as those of Boots or your local chemist.
The problem is, are these really the products that we put in our capsules and tablets or have we just copied the certificates from somewhere on the internet?
Some things have to be taken on trust and, of course, results, which is why we offer a money-back guarantee on all of our products for whatever reason – even if you don’t like the colour!
Still unsure? Ask for a certificate of analysis the next time you buy an item from Boots, or the next time you pick up your prescription
I hope this reassures you somewhat, and apologies for rambling on.
